Z-Museum was established in 2012, since then we have had 56,000 visitors, last season 4. mo. 7500. We have 45 different exhibitions.
Cars from the beginning of 1900 to 1970, motorcycles, mopeds from 1919 and onwards, Norway’s largest collections: with phones, oriental rugs from 1700, Disney collection. Other: dolls, clothes, toys, railway, mine, workshop, carpenter, optician, watchmaker, hairdresser, dentist, furniture, maps 1600-1800, war exhibition, bicycles, hat factory, underwear salon, school, etc.
My grandfather owned Sætre Kjeksfabrikk (Sætre Biscuit Factory) and equipped Roald Amundsen’s South Pole expedition with 50,000 biscuits that were durable and nutritious. Of these, he brought 3 back home, and one of them hangs at the Z Museum with Roald Amundsen’s signature. We also have a gold watch that the Tsar of Russia gave to his 8 generals in 1903. It was of the finest quality, produced in Switzerland. After the revolution, these disappeared, and this is the only known one.
